01Demands
What automotive asks of a line
Launch dates set by the vehicle program
Every cell has to run on the date the vehicle program sets, and that date rarely moves.
Mixed robot brands across body, paint and assembly
One plant can run several robot makers, each with its own controller, language and conventions.
Cycle time that sets line rate
The slowest station sets the rate of the whole line, so seconds count on every cell.
Documentation that flows from OEM to supplier
Specifications, drawings and sign-offs pass from the OEM down to each supplier on the program.
02Applications
Where automation fits
- Body-in-white welding cells
- Sealing and dispensing
- Material handling and part transfer
- Vision inspection and guidance
- Assembly assist
